Why Does RO Performance Matter?

Recognized Organization performance is relevant to Port State Control risk assessment. It should be considered alongside flag, company and vessel inspection history.

▥

RO Detention Rate

A calculated ratio of RO-responsible detentions to overall inspections during the reporting period.

RO Detentions ÷ Inspections × 100

This is not the official Excess Factor.

↗

Excess Factor

The official statistical indicator used to evaluate RO performance. It is not equivalent to the simple detention percentage.
